Bucks Valley Sawmill provides custom sawing, custom kiln drying, and custom planing and surfacing by working directly with homeowners and retail customers.  Whether from our logs or yours, we have the capability to take logs and custom craft them into a finished product tailored to your specifications.   From rustic live edge mantle pieces, to knotty pine T&G wall boards, to mortise and tenon log railings, to wide plank hardwood flooring and everything in between.  If you can't purchase what you need from your local hardware store or if other sawmills have told you they "can't help you with that" - don't give up, call us and we'll be happy to assist with your project.

Sawing

We operate a Woodmizer horizontal band mill that is complete with hydraulic log loading and handling as well as computer controlled for accuracy.  Our sawmill can handle logs up to 20' in length and 30+" in diameter.  It is powered by a 42 Hp diesel engine and is mounted on a trailer package that allows transport to portable sawing locations.

Kiln Drying

​Our kiln is a Nyle dehumidification lumber kiln that can accommodate lumber up to 12' in length and can dry 4,000 bdft of 4/4 (1" thick lumber) per charge at full capacity.   Sterilization is achieved during the drying process by heating the lumber to sufficient temperatures to ensure any bugs within the wood are eliminated.  

Surfacing, Planing, T&G

A Baker planer moulder is also in use at our facility.   This versatile machine can surface or plane all 4 sides of a rough cut board in one pass.  It provides us the ability to efficiently finish lumber into tongue and groove, ship lap, and V-boards as well as many other profiles for use as flooring, wall boards, ceiling boards or just simply surfaced lumber for other projects.
